Life with roommates is nothing new in Allston, but now a development team is moving forward with a large scale project designed specifically to accommodate group housing arrangements. Boylston Properties and ARX Urban are eyeing a parking lot on Lincoln Street for a 6-story, 129,175 square foot co-living complex. The team proposes 80 apartment units, including 65 four-bedroom units containing two or three bathrooms.

The .75 acre site across from 500 Lincoln St. is currently used as a 45 space parking lot. Located .7 miles from the MBTA’s Boston Landing Commuter Rail station, the project would include 30 at grade garaged parking spaced and parking for 120 bicycles.

The project will require variances and conditional use permits from the Zoning Board of Appeals, according to a notification letter to the Boston Planning and Development Agency by developers Andrew Copelotti of Boylston Properties and ARX Urban’s Benjamin Moll.
